I am a 31 yr old female. I seemed to have a weak bladde even before I birthed my three children and its gotten worse after each birth. I have extreme stress urinary Incontinence and Im just getting so tired of dealing with it! Tired of not being able to play and jump and run with my kids. Being caught off gaird by a sneeze, cough or even clearing my throat! I asked my doctor about options. She gave me a variety from the simplist to surgery. What Im wondering is if anyone on here has tried and can give me their opinion on either the O Shot or the MonaLisa Touch laser??

Not tried the above options for inconvenience. What helped me was medication. Ask your doctor to try the medications available if that is a option.

Not tried either but I think both are more for treating vaginal problems and not so much incontinence. Especially extreme stress incontinence.

I had a TVT fitted 4 years ago for Stress incontinence and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Followed up by instructions on Pelvic floor exercises.

Can you tell me what a TVT is? Im just barely starting out in trying to find a solution so all is new to me!

I know that the other options help wi H vaginal issues but was told my my provider as well as in the information I found online that it helps with incontinence as well?

  • How Can I Tell If I Have Urinary Incontinence

If you are having urine leakage, you should seek medical care to find out the cause. The doctor will ask you about your medical history and order laboratory tests. The doctor will also examine you. Sometimes, special tests may be done. In one of these, the bladder is filled with fluid. You will then be asked to repeat the action that usually causes you to have urine leakage, such as coughing or straining. X-rays and other measurements are then done to help the doctor find out why you are having the urine leakage.

What Should You Expect During The O

Dr. Hettiarachchi applies a topical numbing cream, then injects your O-shot into an area near the clitoris. After the injection, growth factors go to work, encouraging the surrounding cells to grow.

Since it takes a little time to produce new tissues, it can take up to three weeks until you notice an increased sensitivity and a better sex drive.

What If These Treatments Do Not Work

Sometimes, a tube called an in-dwelling catheter may be placed into the bladder to drain urine continuously. This method can cause problems, such as infections, and should be used only in special cases as a permanent form of treatment. Another approach is to use a catheter several times a day to drain the bladder.

    Why Choose The O

Research has shown that sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence affect more than 60% of women and 58% of postmenopausal women experience vaginal dryness.

In female rejuvenation, Dr. Pate uses the regenerative capabilities of PRP selectively to help the treatment of urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness and certain gynecologic disorders such as lichen sclerosis.

The use of laser technology such as Mona Lisa® and PRP in combination has been very promising and amplifies the results of each individual treatment alone in the approach to these common concerns. Many of our patients have had profound life-changing results from this combination treatment.

What To Expect During My O

The entire visit may take no more than 30 minutes. Steps to the O-Shot include:

    • Patients have blood drawn from the arm. This is similar to having lab work done during a routine physical. The blood is processed in a centrifuge machine that spins at high-velocity to separate plasma from red blood cells.
    • While blood is processing, a topical numbing substance is applied to the tissue where injections will be administered.
    • Ice may be applied to the area, as well, and a local anesthetic block may be performed to enhance the effects of the topical numbing agent.
    • After PRP has been isolated in a syringe, the substance is injected into specific areas to address concerns discussed during our consultation.

    Does Pregnancy Cause Urinary Incontinence

Pregnant women may have a small amount of urine leakage due to the pressure of the baby against the bladder and the muscles that support it. Usually, this leakage occurs when the woman coughs or sneezes. The problem generally goes away within three or four months after the baby is born. It is helpful if the woman does exercises, called Kegel exercises, to strengthen the muscles. Sometimes, women who have had children are more likely to develop incontinence when they get older due to weakening of the muscles that support the bladder. This is sometimes treated by medications, but surgery may be needed in some cases.

How Long Does It Take Before I See Results From An O

You may experience an increase in sexual desire and pleasure immediately, but full results are usually enjoyed after 3 months. Generally, women will begin to experience heightened sensation in the first 3-7 days and new tissue will begin to develop over the next 3-9 weeks. This will peak around the 3-month mark.

What Kind Of Results Can I Expect From The O

FemiLift and O Shot for female sexual health issues

Our Biosymmetry patients have reported increased sensitivity throughout the vaginal area, increased lubrication, and increased comfort during sexual activity. They also report increased interest in sex, possibly as a result of the other improvements. This is not a procedure for more serious cases of urinary incontinence, but for mild cases, the O-Shot® has proven effective. Of course, results can vary by the patient. These results last for between six months and two years. Weve found that patients can extend their results for a longer duration with a follow-up O-Shot® at six months to one year after their initial procedure.

For best results, other complementary strategies such as health optimization, nutrient and hormonal support are vital for the success of all O-shot® treatments.

    What Is An O

The O-shot is a cosmetic procedure to enhance female sexual wellness. Platelet rich plasma is a substance derived from a patient’s own blood containing stem cells and growth factors. Injections of PRP around the clitoris and within the vaginal walls can promote blood flow and cell growth to increase sensitivity, sexual desire, and enhance sexual sensation.

How Do Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatments Work

The type of vaginal rejuvenation that you need depends on your symptoms. Laser treatments are often used when someone lacks natural lubrication or sensation during sex, experiences painful sex or has urinary incontinence.

Lasers use light energy to penetrate the tissue and create a microscopic injury, she explains. The body responds by boosting collagen production and restoring the vaginal tissue back to its thicker, moister, more elastic state.

After several weeks of regrowth, women have reported increases in sexual pleasure. “My orgasms are better, longer, and honestly, I can’t get enough of my husband,” my friend who is a mom of two told me. “I can’t recommend it enough.”

Some women are also getting the shot to help with health concerns, such as painful intercourse and urinary incontinence. When combined with laser vaginal therapy, the results are said to help with moms dealing with incontinence related to stress.

Re: Surgical Interventions For Stress Urinary Incontinence

The #oshot is a safe all natural way to address symptoms of low female ...

I was disappointed to read Carter and Cartwrights commentary on surgical interventions for stress urinary incontinence, given the intraoperative and postoperative risk of complications and the national drive towards office based treatments . One novel intervention which is not considered is platelet rich plasma therapy, an outpatient treatment which uses platelet rich plasma, an inexpensive biological material, produced directly from the patients blood, therefore minimising a reaction. This is already used to treat tendinopathy and osteoarthritis successfully and has been found to be a safe and effective option for women with stress incontinence . As such, it should be discussed and potentially offered to suitable women as alternative to surgery, rather than limiting them to the conventional therapies we are comfortable with only.

    Medications For Urinary Incontinence

Other names: Bladder, Weak Incontinence Incontinence, Urge Urge Incontinence Weak Bladder

Incontinence is the inability to control the passage of urine. This can range from an occasional leakage of urine, to a complete inability to hold any urine.

The three main types of urinary incontinence are:

Stress incontinence — occurs during certain activities like coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercise.

Stress incontinence is a bladder storage problem in which the strength of the muscles that help control urination is reduced. The sphincter is not able to prevent urine flow when there is increased pressure from the abdomen.

Stress incontinence may occur as a result of weakened pelvic muscles that support the bladder and urethra or because of a malfunction of the urethral sphincter.

Treatment for stress incontinence may include behavioral changes, medication, pelvic floor muscle training or surgery.

Urge incontinence — involves a strong, sudden need to urinate followed by instant bladder contraction and involuntary loss of urine. You don’t have enough time between when you recognize the need to urinate and when you actually do urinate.

In most cases of urge incontinence, no specific cause can be identified.Although urge incontinence may occur in anyone at any age, it is more common in women and the elderly.

Treatment for urge incontinence may include medication, retraining, and surgery.

Mixed incontinence — contains components of both stress and urge incontinence.

How Does Prp Treat Urinary Incontinence

PRP, administered as the O-Shot®, has successfully treated and even reversed conditions of incontinence for thousands of women. The doctor injects PRP sourced from your own blood into the space around the urethra . The injections trigger the platelets to release seven different growth factors that activate the unipotent stem cells to stimulate the tissues to regenerate and repair damaged. Most women experience some form of relief from urinary incontinence in a week or two following the O-Shot® and improvement continues over several weeks. Successful results include the reduced or eliminated need for medications to treat urinary incontinence or a complete resolution of the condition.

What Are Side Effects Of The O

There are very few side effects to the O-Shot. This is largely due to the biological nature of PRP. The growth factors contained in platelet-rich plasma soothe the minor irritation that occurs from injections. As PRP gets absorbed in the vaginal tissues, slight swelling may develop. The injection areas may also feel slightly sore. These side effects are expected to resolve in a day or two.

The O-shot: Results without invasive surgery

The O-Shot treats urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, sexual dysfunction and pelvic floor weakness or pain. It involves drawing a patients blood and isolating the platelet-rich plasma from the blood, Wright says. PRP has regenerative properties.

We inject PRP in strategic places like the clitoris and behind the G-spot to proliferate that tissue, she says. We use O-Shot by and large for sexual dysfunction. So, when patients are having an issue with sensation or reaching climax, O-Shot is a really great procedure, and it works well as a standalone treatment.

But, depending on their symptoms, sometimes patients need the O-Shot and laser treatment to treat the entire vaginal canal along with the G-spot and the clitoris.

    Which Diseases Can Cause Incontinence

Diabetes, strokes and nerve diseases, such as multiple sclerosis. These diseases can damage the nerves that control the bladder which is where urine is stored before it leaves the body. These diseases can also weaken the “sphincter,” a ring of muscle around the opening of the bladder. This ring usually keeps urine from leaking out. Men can have incontinence from problems such as overgrowth of the prostate gland or cancer of the prostate gland, both of which can block the flow of urine. In these cases, urine leaks out when the bladder becomes too full.

Why Women Suffer Even After Seeing The Gynecologist

At K2 Restorative medicine we talk to women about sexual problems. Research shows that only about 14% of women EVER talk to ANY of their physicians about sex. With around 4 in 10 suffering from a sexual disorder, why do only about 1 in 10 ever talk to their physician about sex? According to Practice Bulletin in Obstetrics and Gynecology , the reason may be that research shows few proven treatment options. Both physician and patient would be discouraged by discussing a problem for which there is no proven solutionso the doctor just doesnt ask. Notice that the only treatment offered is vaginal estrogen or topical testosterone or psychotherapy. And even with the hormone therapies, the results were described as short-term. No wonder only 14% of women ever discuss sexual problems with their physician--if the woman is already on hormones , the only known solution, per the official recommendation of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, appears to be psycho-social therapies!

What Are The Risks And Side Effects Of Vaginal Rejuvenation

Treatments marketed for vaginal rejuvenation have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for that purpose. However, Wright said theyre safe and have few risks. But, its crucial to find a clinic experienced in providing vaginal rejuvenation and thats owned and overseen by a physician.

Its a good idea to talk to your gynecologist before having a procedure done, too, Greenleaf suggests, and if they dont offer the treatment, they can likely recommend someone who does. People with a history of abnormal pap smears, who are immunocompromised, pregnant or breastfeeding might not be good candidates for vaginal rejuvenation.

Some patients may experience cramping and light discharge for a couple of days, Greenleaf says. And, youll need to avoid sexual activity and soaking in a tub or pool for a week or so. Theres always a risk of infection or injury from the lasers, but she says its rare.

Most women who receive the O-Shot® notice a change in their sexual stimulation and satisfaction almost immediately. In most cases, full effects of the O-Shot® are seen after three weeks to a month following the treatment. And in the tremendously rare instances when the O-Shot® was reported to have yielded unsatisfactory results, the procedure can be repeated as early as eight weeks after the initial treatment, which almost always provides the necessary boost.

Regardless of age, O-Shot® recipients universally report increased sensitivity to their clitoris and G-spot with many experiencing stronger orgasms even when having never done so before.

    Are There Any Treatments

Yes. Urine leakage can often be stopped or lessened after the doctor finds the cause. Some treatments that have helped other people include drugs, behavioral therapy, special exercises, biofeedback, electrical stimulation and surgery.

DRUGS: Several drugs are available for treating incontinence, depending on what is causing your problem. Some of these drugs, called “bladder relaxants,” prevent urine leakage by decreasing bladder contractions. Another type of drug helps some kinds of incontinence by strengthening muscle contractions at the outlet of the bladder. Estrogens also have been helpful for some women after menopause. A nasal spray that causes you to make less urine is also used for day and nighttime urine leakage .

BEHAVIORAL THERAPY: You can work with a specially trained therapist who will help you to control your urine leakage.

EXERCISE: You can learn to do special exercises to strengthen the muscles that prevent leakage of urine from the bladder.

BIOFEEDBACK: These techniques also help you to gain control over your bladder and to strengthen the sphincter muscle.

ELECTRICAL STIMULATION: This method can help you to strengthen your sphincter muscle and keep your bladder from contracting when you do not want this to happen.

Where Can I Get An O

The O-Shot can be used to treat urinary incontinence. Over time, and due to a variety of causes, your bladder and urethra may become stretched out and not contract back.
